    thanks so much

This might sound like a daft question, but what is in the lounges? Is it just a quieter, more relaxed area?

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-reports/847462-british-airways-premium-experience-part-1-a.html <-- try reading this for a photo review of the Concorde room and First class lounge at T5.

That's the basic idea - somewhere quiet and reserved for premium customers to relax prior to their departure. Proper premium lounges (ie the non-pay to enter ones) do vary in quality and offerings, but you should expect quality food (either prepared to order or buffet style), and an open bar with premium drinks. All have loads of tea coffee and soft drinks.

The higher up the lounge the better the quality of food and drink. (For example the business class lounges at T5 have basic champagne (but you have to ask for it), whereas the First class lounge has free flowing decent champagne. The level up from that (The Concorde Room) has free flowing high end champagne.

They all have free wifi and business services (ie PCs you can use, meeting rooms fax etc). Some have relaxation spas which include showers and massage services. Some will press your suit while you have a shower to freshen up. The boardroom within the Concorde Room uses seats from a Concorde which is exciting if you are into that sort of thing.

There's a small cinema in T5 which can be of use if your flight is delayed. The views over the apron are excellent and you can sit and watch flights take off and land while enjoying champagne.

However, please remember that it's just a room in an airport - don't set your expectations too high and you won't be disappointed.
