I see I am not new in finding my rewards from Eon are now zero!

It seems this has been the case for months and on calling Eon it appears that no online tariff supports any tesco rewards and I can only be offered rewards on a standard tariff....which means an increase of £150 per year.

Yet I have never been informed of these changes, I was not advised when I signed up and entered my clubcard details and on Tesco own website, there is no mention of selective tariffs..

So is this a fair way to both deal with customers ? and to promote a deal which in principal is no deal at all..with the added fact that Tesco are now actively promoting the deal to exchange vouchers for Eon bills.

Lastly, I found the response from Eon customer care to be more arrogant than understanding, saying they have more standard customers than online and cannot see the problem and despite my suggestion that we all need to save money in these times, they had no interest in helping people trapped on standard tariff to find access to online deals unless they could afford online access and a monthly direct debit.

Overall whilst the deal now stinks...the attitude from these large companies is too ensure profits without a thought for the needs of the end user....Eon has no reason to not offer better fuel rates to its customers not able to go online, especially with the elderly and young families facing even greater fuel poverty this year and no doubt the next.

    Thanks for reading the rant!

    Hi bangdang

I'm sorry the response from our Customer Services wasn't what it should've been.

On the Tesco points, there's always been tariffs where Clubcard points haven't been awarded. As I said in a previous post, I'm afraid it's just not possible to include every benefit with every tariff.

For instance, the points were available on some of our earlier Saveonline tariffs but not on later versions.

They're still available on our standard online tariff but the prices on this are not as competitive as those on tariffs without the points.

Again, I'm sorry for the response you received when you called and will gladly pass on your comments about the Tesco scheme to the relevant people.

Sorry Malc, have to disagree, it is not difficult to judge one clubcard deal against another. If there are things i want to use them on that allows me to get x3, compared to x1.5, its simple for me what to go for.

I am on an online tarriff with Clubcard points that expires later in the year. The discount on those available now is much lower in comparrison and only one has clubcard points. When my tarriff ends i will be comparing providers so with lower discounts online and no Tesco points, i could well end up switching. Sorry, but being able to use points vouchers will not be enough to keep me.

Thanks for the feedback keith. As I said earlier, this is only a trial at the moment and all feedback, both good and bad, is valuable.

As you say, there are several things to take into account when considering energy tariffs and you're doing exactly the right thing in using the comparison sites to see all the options available.

I'll pass your comments on to the relevant people. Thanks again.

Keep the feedback coming guys; I've broad shoulders. :D

    Hi tali

Sorry you're having difficulties logging on to your internet account.

Not aware of any current problems with our website

    Hi my definition

Sorry to hear we've upset you.

Yes, you're quite right. We altered our Tesco Clubcard scheme on 1 March 2009.

From this time, customers can earn one point for every £2 spent. Before this it was one point for every £1 spent.

Tried 2 PCs still nothing but i did find this
"Your account is ended so you’re unable to register a Tesco Clubcard on this account. Please contact us if you have any questions.
To find out more about the Tesco Clubcard, please visit the Tesco "website."
Also on meter readings it said my "account is closed "-perhaps this is why all my details are blank:(

Well , this is the first i know of any of this- and i found it just by chance due to the Tesco offer:(
I did few months ago try for a different plan but did not proceed as i was specifically warned in advance it was not a Tesco scheme.Only other differnce is that my DD had a temporary increase
I wanted to register a voucher as date is expiring in 2 days - but all i have is confusion

Just to say that my parents and I have found this scheme to be of great benefit to us (and also Tesco which we only ever used infrequently) in the short time we have been customers of E.on and very much hope that it will be extended past November! :)

EON have been ripping off their customers for years. They love the OAPs who haven't got a clue about switching to a cheaper tariff. Any decent company would include information about the range of packages available in its communications. EON just hopes coffin dodgers & thick people will prove sticky ie pay more than savvy consumers.

Whilst I agree with you here, I think you could replace "E-on" with any utility provider. The only time they ever show their best deals is when they know you're hunting for it i.e. on the comparison websites.

E-On were cheaper for me for 2 years since moving into my current home. I'm currently changing to Scottish Power however as when my online saver 2 ended I was offered no new deal and my bills rose by 32% (-16% I lost online then the 16% from the price rises). Switching is currently in process. I did think about the EDF fixed that was only slightly more but I'm gambling that Cameron is going to slap the energy companies next year.
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
