Hi All,
We are currently indergoing a complete refurb of our property and we would like to plasterboard the underside of the stairs which is currently exposed - wil normal plaster board be fine and then get the plasterer to skim be sufficient or do we need to do something specific to fireproof the area?
Thanks in advance

My OH is in construction design (technical, not just design) and suggests you use 2 layers of 12mm thick Gyproc wall board, with staggered joints, tape and jointed or skim coated. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!0

1 layer of 15mm plasterboard & skim would give half hour fire protectionNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0
