Home Insurance Unoccupied House

Options
Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for house insurance (preferably both buildings and contents) for an unoccupied new build? My daughter is about to exchange on her first home prior to getting married next May and they want a couple more months to save up for furniture and wait for Jan sales etc before moving in. Also current lack of furniture means staying in house even couple of nights a week is akward! Property is in Northern Ireland.
Thanks

It varies a lot depending on the insurance company. Simply filling in a form on a comparison website wont get you very far. This is one area where it may well be worthwhile talking to an insurance broker. I found that Aviva appeared to be more flexible with unoccupied properties than some others but then they were significantly more expensive.

Whichever company you go for will probably expect or require you to physically check the house every week or two. You could have a problem getting contents insurance.
