    I

One further point off your earlier post - you say that unexpected expenses pop up regularly - you need to think through what these are and then work out why they are taking you by surprise. Obviously a tight budget doesn't make covering all the bases easy, but a lot of financial shocks can be saved or at least cushioned by planning ahead.

Yeah there always seems to be something....this month it is insoles for my shoes as they have worn away at the heel & new charger cables. I suppose these could technically be classed as using clothes budget and household repair budget in hindsight.

The medical category is for dental appointments for myself ( going every 3 months at moment) and for monthly prescriptions.

Ahh yes that clarifies on the child costs front - I wondered if it was something like that and yes absolutely understand your feeling that it's not to your OH to contribute there. What sometimes gets forgotten is that "equal" is not always the same as a straight split down the middle - as in your case there are sometimes other factors involved.

I have been on Am&zon this morning to purchase a book I've been wanting for a while with the £40 entertainment budget for this month :D

I noticed it was in the 'buy 3 books for £10' section so thought I would see if they had anymore to add to my collection. I ended up purchasing 3 books that should have come to £19.98 but as i had £8 gift card balance to add from sw&gbucks and they were in the promotion it only came to £2 :j I'm so happy I've saved £17.98. :D

They were all part of a couple of book series that I collect so they would have been on my automatic purchase list anyway. I wouldn't have bothered otherwise as I have started using the library a lot more and stopped buying every book i read :rotfl:

    Hi fivebyfive,

Just stopping by to say you are doing great. I have found thinking about purchases makes such a difference in have walked away from 2 jumpers this week, working in retail does not help when the new lines arrive!!

    Keep up the good work!
