Can I re-claim PPI and, if so, who from?

Hi,

Thanks in advance for any advice.

In 1998 my then girlfriend (now wife) and I bought our first home together and were very naive to the process. We ended up taking a mortgage with Halifax through an independent broker with PPI paid through Legal and General. The broker told us that the Halifax look more favourably on mortgage applications when that particular PPI was taken out, so we took it out!

I consider this to be mis-sold but I don't know if that is the case or, if we can claim, how should we claim from?

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks again.

You cant. It is pre-regulation. Brokers were not regulated until Jan 2005.
