Large deposit saving Bond / ISA / saving

Hi a family member has recently sold an inherited property and has between £80-100,000 to invest long term. They would prefer not to buy to let but savings or investments instead.

I looked at the London Capital 8% bond but it is not guaranteed

What options are available?

If he has no experience, it might be worth his consulting an IFA.

Savings maybe a thousand options, investments maybe 20 thousand.

Savings and investments are also entirely different things.

What is their definition of long term and how much risk will they take? Will they faint if it drops 10%? 20%?
