Scottish RBS card can now be used at NatWest counter

I don't see any announcement of this, but apparently, as of last week, cards issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland in Scotland can now be used at NatWest counters in England.

I was telling the lady on the counter that it seemed silly to get notes out of the cash machine in order to get change at the counter, but that I had to do this because I had an RBS card. She said that there had been a very recent change and she'd been waiting for someone like me to come along so she could test it out. When I put my card into the reader at the counter, she could see my RBS account, to which NatWest staff previously had no access. No idea whether this has arrived at all branches yet, or whether the reverse is true in Scotland, but at least it's online at our local NatWest branch here in County Durham.
