How would you feel if the property you want was still being marketed?!

Some will accept other viewers/offers, but the majority don't. I consider it pretty bad form. Once I have an offer on my house, it is off the market. If someone wants to leave their details with the agent in case it falls through, great. But I won't be having viewers or gazumping anyone.

Treat others as you expect to be treated...

We would have had no intention of accepting another offer while the first was going through, it just would have been nice to have know if there had been any other interest and get more feedback. We assumed the estate agent would take it off the market, but it never got removed from the website and was never even marked as 'under offer'.

Unfortunately, we are now on the receiving end as our vendor has gone back on the market because they are sick of waiting.

Then i'd say said EA has been poor and you need to find a better one asap and move on.

Of course you wouldn't, but there is probably a price at which you would!

As I said before, I would have no intention of gazumping someone else either, but if the house was new to the market and it was exactly what I was after, I might do so on the grounds that the correct price hadn't been established. The vendors are entitled to that.

I'd also do it on the basis that I've never found this house in years of searching! :rotfl:
