I do not know where to post this, I do not know which forum but here I am. Hubby collected loads of football matches MU and wild life and have got hundred of these tapes in the loft but not all of them have been labelled properly. I do not know what to do with them, they are very interesting to watch esp the wild lifes but they are now redundant and instead of throwing them away, they are in good condition I am wondering whether anybody knows any organization who would take them? I am not sure whether I can take them to my local tip. Thanks

I transfered any video tapes that I wanted to keep to DVD then binned the tapes, video recorders are now obsolete as most had analogue tuners.0

Charity shops still sell them, though it seems some try to charge too much.
One shop in Whitley Bay, sells them at only 10p each.
Another option, put them on http://www.freecycle.org/
At least that way, somebody may come and collect them from you, without you having to bring them somewhere yourself.
Personally, the charity shop option would be my choice .. in fact they might even collect them too0 -
if you turn them into computer files xvids mpegs mp4s avis and dvds etc ...
then upload them on to a free private uk torrent site like thebox.bz
then they can give pleasure to a few more
when you've converted them ..will give you an invite ..
sorry ..no invites for anyone else
all the best.markj0 -
My husband has well over 1500 VHS tapes of football games from all over the world. He bought a VHS/DVD recorder and is slowly turning them all into DVD.
I chuck the VHS tapes into the non-recycling bin when he has finished with them."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
I managed to sell my collection of 'artistic' video tapes on ebay...."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Actually I have kept all of mine with a recorder.
My oldest son ( now 21 ) used to cry when Thomas The Tank ended .
When he's 30 my plan is to give him the tapes0
