I bought 100 postage wallets at £3.89 off eBay, which works out at 3.89pence each. We're just sellin g all the boys clothes figuring it's out the house and better than charity as we can respend it. So far we've bought a £53 scooter for DS1 birthday frommebay cash made in December, some things for baby and a few hoodies for DS1 after his mega growth spurt.

To set the scene we've been with Sky broadband for 8yrs, always haggled for deals so been happy. For last 12 months we've had broadband free and paid for line rental at £16.40, but soon to go up! Now we've been happy with sky broadband, never had an issue and works well. We use a fire stick with kodi downloaded on it for films and series, so we do a fair bit of streaming.

Talk talk are offering 18months free, no connection fee, £60 love2shop voucher and then you can get £50 cash back through quidco.

I'm confident we can get the broadband for free, but how can you beat a £60 voucher and £50 cash as a lovely OP?

But what's talk talk broadband like as we can't afford a drop off in level of Internet? We live in a medium sized town 8-10 miles from 2 major cities so it's hardly like we rural or remote, which gives me confidence it will be same level of broadband given its the same phone lines etc...

Plusnet also have similar offers, but not quite as good.

Overall I have to confess the £50 cash back for the mortgage is the major hurdle for me, as it'd be a great addition to the fund!

    Thoughts please?

Talk Talk - Beyond dreadful customer service if you have issues. Complicated billing with odd contracts lengths between BB and LL designed to catch you out when you leave.

Honestly stay away, I know several with issues which never got fixed as your dealing with a company that does not care and employ staff who can read English but can't understand you!

All have been so glad to get back to BT/SKY.

    Cheers

Delurking here at the mention of Talk Talk. We have unlimited and it can be a bit slow when 3 or 4 of us are all using but we're all big users. The main downside can be the scam calls: ages before the recent hack we started receiving calls allegedly from Talk Talk but an obvious scam (trying to link to our router etc). It's not constant, but periodically we still get calls and that drives me mad! Other that, they're fine (but don't want to stay with them because of the hacking issues).

We've been with PN for almost a year now and had no problems (after we purchased our own router, the one supplied by BT/PN was useless). Have only had to phone them up once as they'd messed up our billing (charged us for line rental even though we pre-paid), but it was quickly sorted. Otherwise the service has been great - haven't had to phone them about technical issues (was on the phone to BT at least once a month), and they e-mail us about a week before our DD goes out to confirm the amount, which is nice (and how we caught the billing error).

Before you waste time searching check your postcode for your options. I am 10 miles from a city and 10 miles from a big town in other direction in a village but only have the choice of Bt and sky (which piggybacks bt) saying that though we ar con a village location. Just check first as talk talk can be quite limited by location.

As a country dweller, we have the choice of BT - full stop! I would be with Sky if I had the choice just for the choice of channels and a lot of the stuff we watch is on Sky1. that said, I've never had an issue with BT, my recent haggle knocked off £15 a month from the bill and the internet speed is ok.. I won't even tell you what we get, it's so poor in the country - if me and DH hit 4g anywhere when we are out and about, it's like party time!

Been with T@lk T@lk since they took over T!scali (so must be a good 12 years now). Only probs we've had are the database hacking issues leading to the scam calls like bunty.

It's reliable and fast for us (unlimited package), always discounts to be had, but complicated pricing come renewal and beware the 12 months offers are usually 18 month contracts.

Echo OCC on checking strength in your area :)

I find it the most complicated area of utilities, etc, to sort out each year and end up staying put with a new deal (usually £10+ off a month made up of various bits!).
