id say no, they would nothave used it if it was valuable;
tell them to go back to man utd and ask if he will sign it again as surely wayne reads this dilemma site0 -
Our neighbour's son kicked his football into our garden and our three dogs destroyed it.
Regardless of whether it was worth money or not, I'd say the neighbour can jog on.
Their child will learn a "valuable" lesson in looking after their property.
If the dog had escaped into the neighbour's garden and destroyed the ball there, it might be a different matter.
The goodwill gesture of offering to buy a new unsigned ball is more than enough, given that the kid seems more intent on playing with it rather than keeping it as a memento.0 -
absolutely no way. Seriously wouldn't even consider it. Something like that is for keeps not for playing about in the back garden. I'd buy a new ball and say it replaces like for like as its just a ball at the end of the day:T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :beer::beer::beer:0

Buy a ball, copy this scribble onto it, your neighbour will be happy and it's all sorted

Couldn't agree more with the above!
You have acted to uphold neighbourly love by offering to replace the ball and of course balls do get kicked into peoples gardens, not on purpose but it does happen however you cannot control which ball they play with and your dogs have every right to play in your garden.
Nice gesture to offer the ball and I would be tempted to do it anyways but they're out of order trying to bully you into doing anything more. You can fool everyone but yourself!...............if you do, seek help!0 -
Dogs can't read....
How the hell would they know what Wayne Rooney's signiture looks like?0 -
No you do not legally have to replace the ball as it was in your garden. This happened to me as my neighbours child kept kicking the ball over my six foot fence and I replaced the first ball as my german sheperd burst it, but told the neighbour I wasn't going to be responsible if the dog burst any more balls which he did. Dogs are not responsible for playing or bursting balls in their own garden as it's just another toy to them0

Yet another ridiculous MMD! Thankfully, this one is quite funny0

Hi, personally I wouldn't replace the ball, well not a signed one anyway. If it was so valuable why was their son playing with it?? I know if we had anything like that it wouldn't be being kicked around anywhere. Is there actually any proof at all that the ball was signed?
That little boy must have one hell of a kick too if he sent it over a 6ft fence.
Good luck.0 -
My son had a football signed by the whole Sheffield United team....I insisted we play with it to rub off/smudge the signatures so its value could be restored........0
