We are collecting a new Puppy in a few days time and are concerned that it can escape through a gap at the bottom of the garden gate - so are looking for a filler rubber flap to fill the 5" gap
The gate is on a slope - so a piece of wood will not be any good............
Any suggestions as to where these can be brought from ?

I've never heard of such an item, but you could use a removable length of wood and make sure the puppy is well supervised when outside. This is necessary anyway, to make sure he/she has toileted and doesn't eat or hew anything inappropriate.

There is also the risk of a small, cute, unsupervised puppy being stolen,as it is unlikely to bark when approached (while an older dog probably would).

What about a piece of wood across the bottom and rising hinges which will lift the gate as it opens.

You could buy a piece of lino or perhaps a sample square might do the trick and nail it to the gate.

Sorry, half an explanation :D When you swap it, you could hang the gate slightly lower by a few inches.

OK Solved - I have ordered a 6" deep strip of neoprene rubber (8mm thick) - that I can fix to the bottom of the gate !!

Fab! Gates can be awkward when you have a furry monster running around. Will we get to see any pictures of the cutie?
