mold in rented flat advice please.

Options
Hi all,

I am a mini landlord with one single bedroom flat that I rent out.

I have a mold issue on the north cold wall.

My tenants are complaining in a nice way so far...

Now I've told them all the things about condensation and that's all it is.

I live in the flat above and had the same issue when I moved in 2 years ago. I just keep the windows open etc and bought some dulux anti mold paint that worked a treat.

They are also saying there wardrobe is getting mouldy. I've seen the mold.

I have a couple of options.

1)Paint the wall with the anti mould paint(2 coats)
2)Put in a passive vent(but do they really work?)
3)Cavity wall insulation?
4)another radiator(expensive)
5)wardrobe I have no idea.

Can anyone advise please?

Thanks

    6) Try a Dehumidifier .
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Thanks but a dehumidifier is not a solution and I doubt they want to pay for the electricity.

    Thanks

Look into PIV systems effectively moving air for around £5 per year
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

dehumidifier, they only need it on when windows are closed, and as it gives out warm dry air the cost involved is effectively knocked off the heating bill. It also takes less energy to heat relatively dry air than humid air. They cost less to run than a fridge.
