Log Burner Quote - Installation Only

Hi There

I have received the following quote from a local stove shop for the installation only of a Charnwood Country 4 log burner. I am based in the Leeds/Bradford area.

I have been quoted £450 (inc VAT) which includes the following:

Fitting and sign off of the stove
Register plate
Closure plate
Stove pipe with elbow (15 degree angle)
All other fitting materials

Installation is direct to the original chimney flue, not a liner. All has been inspected and certified as safe to use.

There is no making good of the fireplace opening/hearth required as this has already been done.

They also quoted £150 extra for the supply and fitting of a cowl but I believe I can get this done cheaper elsewhere.

Does this seem reasonable?

Seems expensive but they will charge waht they can get away with.

In comparison I paid £350 for Hetas installation INCLUDING liner and making register plate etc! I think I got the cowl as part of a package included in the liner.

I reckon the above would take one person less than a morning to complete

When you say including liner do you mean including fitting or actually supply and fitting of the liner within the £350?

Sorry, I supplied the liner adn everything else. They got on the roof, fitted it, hooked it all up, made registered plate which they sprayed etc. They did a great job, pic below
