    Hello Ladies,

I made the effect and went to Karaoke last night and I had a good evening out. I was not able to dance really because my chest started to hurt me when I tried to dance.:o I was able to sing 4 songs. :)

I am back at work even though I have not fully recovered, so the work is more arduous at the moment, but I hope to be fully recovered by next week.

My grandson has been staying with us for just over a week. He is in Local Authority Care. He was asked to leave his supported housing because he smashed up furniture in a room and threatened members of staff with violence. Life is certainly different with him living with us temporarily. It means a lot more washing and drying for one.;) He eats quite a lot as well. :) We do like him being here though, because he is very talkative with us and he has a great sense of humour and a loud, infectious laugh, that soon gets you smiling or laughing aloud with him. :D

sugar I hope you feel better soon. You always have a positive outlook, that must be where your grandson gets his sense of humour from.

I've had a really buy few weeks at work, which is why I haven't posted much. We have booked our summer holiday to Greece. We also painted the kitchen at the weekend - it's great to see the progress we are making on our home.

    Hello Ladies :hello:

Indie your post has made me feel so much positive about life in general - various things have been getting me down lately and reading through your post has made me realise that most of the things that are affecting me are all within my grasp to change. I have to say your social life leaves me in a bit of whirl - how do you find time to fit it all in?

Hope your tests all go OK PinkPetal.

I have been using my Clinique Sonic brush for almost a week now and the change in my skin is amazing - it feels so much softer and the marks/small scars that I had on my jawline from months & months of repeated spot outbreaks are starting to fade - also I have only had one spot since using it and it went away before it developed into one of the usual large bumps under the skin - result :T

Well, I have no children or husband to run around after, pay a cleaner to come in once a week and get the ironing done by someone else too and chose to work 4 days a week instead of 5 (i.e. took a 20% pay cut to do so), so I have the luxury of quite a bit of spare time (and I guess reading that back, am fortunate in as much as my job is well enough paid to allow me to cut hours and outsource chores)

But having said that, all of the above has been true for years and I've only really started socialising quite as much as this during this year - the change in diet I have mentioned has really boosted my energy levels so I don't seem to need to have so many nights flopped on the sofa watching TV feeling exhausted. I also think not drinking alcohol is making a difference - not that I was drinking ridiculous amounts, probably within the recommended weekly maximum, but now I am not drinking it's noticeable how energy sapping even a mild hangover can be. I can plan energetic things for Sundays now even if I am out late Saturday.

Although having said all that, after being out almost every night for the last fortnight I am quite glad I can work from home tomorrow, thereby being able to have a little lie in because I won't need to do the hour plus journey to the office.

Dreamgirls last night was pretty good, Amber Riley has a hell of a voice. Not quite enough solo parts for her for my liking, but when she was allowed to let rip she blew the roof off the place - got a standing ovation during the show rather than having to wait till the end.

Got a night at the pub with friends tomorrow - band playing for St Patrick's night, then the workshop about finding your dream man on Saturday with a night out after to put skills into practice, then a Ceroc freestyle on Sunday afternoon and we're planning to do a pub quiz on Sunday night. So another quiet weekend ahead...

Only got plans for three out of the five weeknights next week so far... but wouldn't be surprised if that changes!

Indie.... I am another one quite dazzled by your social whirl.....you go girl!!! I am hoping that will be me one of these days. I do love reading your posts and I really enjoyed the one about "happiness".

SUkey....sorry you have been feeling down, me too if I'm honest. But like you I find coming on here helps lift my spirits.

I have been a bit down in the dumps recently. I have one more hurdle to overcome tomorrow - scattering dad's ashes and then hopefully my mood will lift. In itself it's not the scattering of the ashes but it's the fact this will be the first time I will be in the presence of my sister since dad's funeral. I'm actually a tad nervous (yes, very silly I know but it's how I feel). I will be glad when it's over. At least the boys will be with me so there should be no "embarrassing silences".

Not sure where my sister and I go from here, I would imagine a cool distance rather than a complete estrangement but I doubt our relationship will ever recover. I have had several weeks now to mull things over and oddly enough I have not really missed her nearly as much as I thought I would.

Well yesterday I put myself in the scales and I was horrified to see I had put weight on. I am the highest non pregnant weight I have ever been. I am also very unfit and constantly shattered.

Reading Indies post about "love" reminded me that my word is "vitality", something which I am sadly lacking. So after weighing myself I thought right this is it........I need to "DO SOMETHING"!!!!!

So I have joined a gym:eek: hopefully I will have my induction next week but if not I can at least start swimming and see about joining a Pilates or yoga class. They throw in a couple of free sessions with a personal trainer so I'll see how It goes.

I don't wish to sound melodramatic but I really feel this is my last chance to reclaim my fitness and health. I am not getting any younger. :o It's now or never.

Time for some serious "self love".

Sugarbaby - hope you feel better soon.

    FAb Friday...........dont forget. ;)

    Have a great weekend.

Thanks sukeyboo the results are in I have a b12 deficiency which when after looking it up explains a lot, so hopefully in a few weeks I should have some energy my mojo may even return. Rheumatoid arthritis also confirmed so I already have an appointment for that booked in May. I must admit my skin is in a terrible state so I have treated myself to some Elemis products, I have started to drink more water but it is a struggle. I have also started to use a hair mousse on my roots because its so flat and have really noticed a difference in volume. Hoping for a bit of sun soon I am so pale I could be mistaken for a zombie. Still I'm feeling pretty positive I'll soon be looking fab. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

Hi Petal. Glad you got some answers. At least you know now and can get the right treatments.

I popped into town, on impulse I walked into a hairdressers and got my hair cut. Looks a lot better. I must try some styling mousse, my hair is baby fine and can look very flat.

Bought some trainers for the gym and went to Kiko armed with my list of products I thought I might try. The girls were really helpful and their prices are very reasonable so I don't mind taking a bit of a chance. I just told them nothing with retinol because unfortunately although it works wonders my skin can't take it.

My sister has just cancelled tomorrow and then rescheduled for next week without consulting me. Little madam, just typical - expecting me to simply slot in ......:rotfl:

Drizzling now so going to crack on with painting the door frames.

    Hello Ladies,

My Grandson's social worker and personal adviser worked really hard and found him somewhere to live in a shared house in London, so he left here and moved into his new home on Wednesday. We were pleased for him, as we all had thought it would take weeks if not months.

LL, I am sorry your sister is still being very high handed with you. I am feeling better than at the beginning of the week, but my chest is still tight and my throat still a bit sore.

My oldest daughter rendered me speechless yesterday by telling me from her hospital bed over the phone that she had had a respiratory attack and 'died' for 2 minutes, but they had brought her back. The worry never ends no matter how old your children are. She is disabled and she cannot walk as well as has other physical problems and mental health issues as well.

Feeling very sad tonight - you may remember a while ago my cat was poorly and wasn't expected to last very long. Well he rallied round and recovered somewhat but we finally lost him today - he went peacefully at home while we were holding his paws ❤

    Hello everyone

I would like to come back and join in if thats ok. I used to come on a few years ago. Its been a bit of a rubbish few years and I'm as far away from fab as you can get.

I have just started the journey to lose 3 stones. I have really started to feel ill carrying the extra weight and want so much not to have to drag it round daily.

I used to wear perfume daily but have none at the moment. Make up is just foundation and mascara. It used to be everything. Nails.....well they have always been a disgrace. I have had a voucher since mothers day last year which is unused. I will be booking for a manicure as soon as possible.

I too also need to start loving myself.
