I feel my mortgage is about to be withdrawn

Options
Hi all

We are first time buyers. We reserved a new build on 50% shared equity scheme. We employed a broker who got us a mortgage with the Halifax and have received (numerous) mortgage offer letters from them. A quick call from the developers yesterday to say ready to book home demo and exchange/complete, hopefully before the bank holiday. Taking this information with a pinch of salt as I had not heard from our solicitors nor transferred our deposit, I called them and the solicitor advised it has been referred to the Halifax legal team to check they are happy to proceed, but if not it will result in withdrawal. I have no idea why they would send us offer letters and then withdraw at seemingly the last hurdle? Does anyone have any experience with this as I'm starting to feel we may lose this house now. Our mortgage broker is also chasing them and waiting for a response but nothing yet.

Thanks
