Monday 6th July - What small DFW things will you do today?

Options
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

    Morning All, thanks Ziggy for starting us off.

    DS1 gone to work.

    Have a lovely visitor tonight DH cousin celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, I mean who makes 40 years now. It is so great. Roast pork tonight then, with lots of apple sauce and sweet potatoes and stuff from stores. No shopping required. Am really looking forward to it.

    First work day and a difficult challenging day, infact looking at the week, will be trying from beginning to end. Ho hum!

    Jobs to do before 13th mow the lawn. spray chickens.

    swim 3 times.Have now set up direct debit as the £4.20 was putting me off going whereas the £22.50 a month becomes a bargain as long as I go often enough. Makes sense to me!!!:T

    Enjoy wimbledon all.

    Morning all :)
    Thanks for the start Ziggy.

    Maria - OH and I have managed more than 40 years. Not sure where the time has gone :o

    Speaking of which, I have co-opted him to help me with the housework this morning as it looks like a bomb site in here, as he has been making a mess all weekend due to a messy outside job, and I have been ill and not kept on top of it!

    Other things for today:
    Check banks

    Wash hair (in a minute) using up more of the shampoo I don't like (nearly finished the bottle now), and let it dry naturally.

    HM meals from stores, not much cooking needed, as I have a choice between pasta and bolognese and chicken drumsticks with ratatouille already cooked - just veg or salad to prepare :D

    Check sales unit as I have not been there for a few days due to illness. I will walk down for free exercise, and take a few small bits to top up (hopefully this will be needed!)

    Take a few bits to the charity shop on the way

    Plant out leeks in the spot where I took out the broad beans yesterday.

    Also plant out some chard if I can find a suitable spot

    Pick any produce that is ready (rhubarb needs pulling again, for a start)

    Any watering needed

    Right, OH has arrived with the hoover, so I am on my way upstairs to make a start there! Have a good day everyone :)

    Morning all!

    Sorry I didn't pop by over the weekend! I did have a relatively MSE weekend and only spent £10. Quite happy with how my training is progressing - took a further 53 seconds off my time at park run - meaning I've improved by 2 and a half minutes in my last 3 runs! Still a long way to go before I could ever consider myself fit!

    Today I have/will:-
    * Check banks
    * Take lunch to work
    * Check FPL
    * Check TCB
    * Go for a walk at lunch
    * Dinner from stores
    * Take clothes back to Next
    * Paint nails
    * Pop to mum's to get help with my crochet!
    * Submit meter readings

    Think that's everything for today. Hope you all have a great day.
    Starting again..

    Well, it was a lovely morning here when I took the dog for his 2 mile walk before breakfast, but as soon as I cycled to my veg garden, the heavens opened! I just had time to get beans, mange tout and spuds without getting too wet, but had to give up on anything else I'd planned to do.

    Luckily I keep an old kagoule in the pannier of my bike for just these moments, so didn't get too wet cycling back home. Stopped at P.O. on way back to collect pension - I could have it paid into bank account, but think the small P.O.'s need all the support they can get. I wouldn't bother if we lived in a larger town.

    I had to do an emergency stop when I saw a 20p lying in the road - I put any roadkill in a pot and don't count it till the end of the year and then treat myself.

    Well, the housework won't get done unless I make a move, so bye for now.
