Quotes - Should I try to negotiate?

Options
I have some quotes for work that I'd like to have done in my home, mainly decorating but a bit of plumbing and carpentry/odd jobs. The quotes are all around £3.5K -£4K, which is mainly for labour as I'm supplying most of the materials. Do most people try and negoatiate a lower quote or is that not done and I should just accept them as they are?

This is MSE, but I don't knock down my suppliers on labour and don't discount for clients. I would agree to reduce specification if clients want to pay less.

It might not hurt to try.

MSE = Money Saving Expert (this website).

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.
