Do you mean that you need to invest an inheritance for a minor?0

4 years is not enough to be investing. Stick with saving.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Yes that's correct.
My son is 17 now and the inheritance is to be held in trust until he is 21.0 -
You do need to establish the nature of the trust whether bare/discretionary etc. - ask the solicitor.
This is very important from the point of view of taxation - see https://www.gov.uk/trusts-taxes/overview

If the money is "indefeasibly vested" in your son, then you will hold it in bare trust. See post 6 http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=69469347
Four years is probably too short a time for investment ( and the trust deed may not allow you powers of investment) so that you will need to obtain as much as possible on a cash account.
You will note that opening a trust account is none too easy. See

It may be that you will find like the other poster that Cater Allen may be able to meet your requirements?
Otherwise, it may be possible to open a five year fixed rate bond in trust?

You might approach Close Brothers?0 -
June 2021 is much nearer 5 years than 4.0
