Consultations are underway on developing the criteria to exempt some ESA claimants from future reassessments......the new rules should be in place from Autumn 2017

PIP is not subject to this "exempt list". However, the most severely disabled may get up to 10 yr awards...and then at review there may be a " light touch process" not requiring a further face to face assessment

Unfortunately the criteria is so narrow that, if applied strictly, it will benefit very few people. And if given too wide an interpretation, the govt will take steps to "clarify" their intent and limit it again. As ever it is unlikely to apply to mental health claimants.

    Tory lip service I'm afraid.

    Hi poppy12345,

that's why I asked Iamwales the question. I already knew from the link in my post that the criteria was still to be defined before implementation in the autumn.

But Iamwales' post suggested they had some idea of the criteria already and that it was very narrow hence asking for details.

    regards,
    T
