Hi guys,
Has anyone any ideas of how much I can expect to pay for the istallation of a gas fire and surround?
I'm hoping to have a price range in mind when I ring round for quotes!
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I have just got a quote for £1238 for fitting of a new stove. Quote breaks down to £699 for the stove, £40 Stove Pipe, £250 for Stone Hearth and £249 for fitting including knocking out of existing wall and plastering.
I have also paid £260 to a seperate company to have my flue test and a new flue liner installed.
The same place also did gas and electric fires, with hearth and surround all fitted for £799.
Hope this helps.0 -
You can also get those flueless gas fires- I bought mine from B%Q Think it was £549 or something like that (didn't come with surround as thats not the style) and it cost me £200 for a gas fitter to come and install.0

we paid around £200 last year to have the fire removed from one room and capped off then knocking out chairbrick in new room and installing the fire along with hearth/back/panel and surround. Got quoted similar to install a new one in our new place from the same guy a couple of weeks back (this is Dorset if regional prices vary)0

I paid a Corgi registered gas fitter £180 to fit a basic gas fire and surround in Manchester0

good question donna-j - we live in a victorian property and the previous owners covered over the fireplace just with ply board which has been wallpapered and painted over. We want to open it up and install a combination gas cast iron fireplace. Any building control regulations we need to know about? or can a general builder install the fireplace then we get in a corgi fitter to hook up the gas? TIA if anyone knows0

I am buying the fireplace over the web. The marble surround I am buying from a specialist shop, (where I saw the fireplace for £200 more !). I am getting a local CORGI man to remove the old fire and fit the new one and surround for £300.0 -
Thanks all! That's very helpful.0
