Gas/Electric Useage-Is It Excessive?

Options
Hi There

After some advice if possible please? Have just done annual meter readings for both gas and electric and dont know if there average or excessive

Electric is roughly 9500kw per year
Gas is roughly 27500kw per year

DD has risen from £65 to £105 per month.

We are a family of 3, in a 3 bed room semi. All normal electric stuff but do have quite a few electrical luxury items. I am disabled and OH my FT carer so are at home all the time and need the heating on because of illnesses etc.

Any pointers please?

Thanks so much

Doesn't sound too excessive to me.
My usage (based on old bills and recent meter reading before switching) is
    7000Kw Electric
    50000Kw Gas.
    Approx.
Thats for a 3 bed detached - build 1903 therefore none of the modern insulation cavities etc.

I think your electricity is very high. For 3 people at home all the time your gas is probably OK.

This extract is from an official website:(Digest of UK Energy Statistics 2004, Office for National Statistics)

"The average person in the UK uses 1,955 'units' or kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year. The average household uses 4,602 units of electricity."

So you are using approx double the average electricity.
