National Insurance and JSA

How much NI will you have to have contributed to be eligible to claim JSA?

I have been paying in for 8 years (im 25) but I had 6 months off about 3 years ago where I opted out of paying NI. Will this affect any claim that I potentially might make?

    Ask them the exact rules...

As I understand the situation, they look at the financial year two years before that in which you are claiming, and so your eligibility depends on how many NI contributions you made in that year.
