The one i wish i could say at times to both sellers and buyers is.

"I knew you would be trouble"

sometimes get a feeling transactions are going to go wrong early and am often proved right!

I've not had a real headache customer for a while but I usually type the answer I want to and then delete it before sending and send the polite and condescending one. That works for me.

On being sent a message offering £25 on a collection of books up for £100

"Thank you for your offer of 25% of the starting value, but do I really look like an idiot to you"

(The books sold for £150 in the end)

I get this a lot on gumtree, I want to say google the bloody postcode that is in front of you or look at the map on the page with the arrow on it pointing almost to my front door.

But we just tell them where it is again and wait for the inevitable reply, oh too far I didn't know you are in essex.

Buyers who don't read listings are annoying. We clearly state the dimensions of the items we sell (twice, one in the item description and once in the postage section to explain why we charge the postage price we do), yet still so many people ask us what size the item is.

I also get annoyed by people who score us down for postage - since RM increased its prices we now only charge actual postage cost, previously we charged postage + 15p to cover all packing materials.

Rant over, normal service will now resume...

If I get a buyer who has messaged me asking something that is clearly answered in my listing, I delete the message and block them instantly, knowing that I've saved myself a whole load of future hassle!

I know what you mean about unecessary questions. Being there's a slight delay in the eBay messaging system, and the buyer happens to be in one of the biggest shops on the planet, by the time they've got your replied, something else has normally got their attention and they've arrived at another seller's product. I would estimate that 75% of questions you answer in the affirmative "yes that's exactly the right one for you", do not end in a sale, and thus have completely wasted both the buyers and sellers time.

I have been looking for a bag recently and messaged a good number of sellers to ask the length of the strap (as im tall so need one thats longer than the average bag) and only one got back to me, i really want to know why they cant even be bothered replying even if its a sorry we cant tell you rather than ignore it. Heck if they cant be bothered to reply they are not getting my custom.

Most common question is "do you combine postage" when I have gone to great length on my listings to say that I do and have it set up to not add extra postage for additional items. To my dismay, most of these questions are from users of the mobile app who then go on to make several individual purposes, completely the opposite of my reply and details in my listing.
