    Hello Everyone,

Been missing for a couple of days as had a couple of bad days with my personal life. Trying to decided whether I really miss ex or its just habit of our life together.

Working from home today and then third job tonight so will earn a bit exta. Think I am going to start logging my extra learning so I can see how much I get but also to encourage me to do more.

    Today I will -

    - Lunch from stores, snack from stores before work and then dinner at work.
    - Do as much paperwork as I can before 3pm
    - Do a load of washing and dry
    - Have a quick clean of the house, finding the tidier the house the better I am working and making extra money
    - Possibly have a NSD depends on whether the butcher has any trotters for the dog etc
    - look further into pet insurance
    - Work out next months budget, might take book to work and do it there, planned that saturday and never happened.
    - Find out how much my stall will cost a spring fair, then plan my crafting makes for it.
    - Need to do swagbucks as only need another 60 to get a £10 voucher.
    - check other surveys as a couple close to paying out.

Hope everyone has a lovely day
    APR NSD - 0/10
Paid off in 2013 so far £125.00
    April Money made - £18.00

    Hello

So far so good. We have just returned from the swings, a bit cold (ok blooming freezing) but we managed an hours football, and the walk there and back. Just settling down to our lunches.
This is our 3rd car free Tuesday in a row, I'm really proud of us as its so easy to give in to the car when its so cold.
Officially a NSD as well, literally haven't touched my purse. Need to find us something to do for the afternoon activity, might suggest making chocolate chip cookies as they dont need any eggs, (which we havent got anyway) and an easy activity. we can benefit from!

    Hi everyone,
A bit of a mixed day today, as am suffering a bit with time of the month & also discovered last night that I have......CHILBLAINS!! Couldn't believe it, as I haven't had those since I was about 12 or 13 & used to walk a couple of miles to school in winter in sheer black tights! (thick socks weren't very 'cool'). Have been looking up old natural remedies for chilblains but have only found 'dipping them in the contents of the chamberpot'. Hmmmm. NOT going to happen, I think I'll try & put up with the itching & burning!! :-) Hey, it's an MSE remedy though.....
    Today so far:
*Laundry washed on 30 degrees overnight on Economy 7.
*Chicken stew bubbling away in slow cooker using more of the weekend's rubber chicken & a load of root veg that needed using.
*Two extra tubs of fresh chicken stock frozen for future soups.
*Bread dough in breadmaker for pizza tonight, plus bread rolls for the rest of this week's packed lunches.
*Mended a dress so I can wear it again.
    *Did a few surveys.
*Mr foxgloves managed to pop home for coffee before heading off for his meeting thus avoiding the temptation of Cafe Nero.
    Still to do:
*Going to write a long letter to a friend with my free stamp.
*Try & get 2nd lovely fluffy sock finished (2.5 needles are soooo tiny, but love knitting socks) as am wearing 3 pairs at once today cos of the bloomin' chillblains!
    *Finish reading my library book.
*Clear my desk ready for tomorrow's Big Budgetting Session.
    Love to everyone,
    foxgloves x
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Since my brother installed us a log burner, I've been saving money by spotting pallets and burning them.... I've been chopping them down all day. Then I found this handy little guide to making things out of pallets too: http://www.dumpaday.com/genius-ideas-2/35-amazing-uses-for-old-pallets/ I fancy giving it a go!

did you guys see this posted over on the sunday thread? Thinking a couple of the ideas are pretty cool

I have heard of chilblanes but never seen them. What do they look like? How do you get them? I'd have thought it impossible if you were moving around normally during the day? How awful for you :(

Loving the rubber chicken references, which I now get thanks to Queen Frugals blog. I see someone has set a record of 12 meals from one rubber chicken! Wow.:T

    @Bobarella
12 meals from a rubber chicken?? Oh now there's a challenge! Mr foxgloves did roast chicken on Sat, chicken & his low-fat chips & salad on Sun, I did chicken fajhitas yesterday, it's mexican chicken on home-made pizza tonight, he'll have chicken stew tomorrow on a jacket potato & possibly a portion for the freezer depending on how much of a greedy pig he is :-), 2 stocks gone in the freezer plus 2 chicken wraps for packed lunch. But 12 meals?? That's amazing! I am still clearly an amateur!

You really want to know about chillblains? Well, they are red itchy lumps which appear on the joints of your toes (can be on fingers too, apparently). They are caused in very cold weather if you warm your feet up too quickly, such as sticking them in front of the fire (which I do) or shoving them on a hot water bottle (which I also do) or resting them on the radiator while reading your book or knitting (which I love doing.....oh dear....). You don't really realise you've got them until your toes feel a bit numb, then the itching starts & as your feet get warmer, the burning. You have to not scratch them as they can bleed, tho' mine are not as bad as that. As they are apparently supposed to clear up by themselves in a week or two if you keep your feet warm, let's just say that's why I've got 3 pairs of socks on! Hope this answers your question......& that everyone is not now taking their shoes & socks off & inspecting their feet......

  • ha ha foxgloves the world's leading expert on chillblains! If I have any enquiries I will send them your way!

So happy. After having 2 incidents at work this morning that have left me frustrated, angry and crying (in my car at lunch) I have completed another job application and got a call for an interview next week. Now where is that "fingers in the air" smilie??!

    Here we go @Foxgloves -http://mortgagefreeinthree.com/2013/01/5797/

The blogger starts off saying she is going to do 8 meals with her rubber chicken, but if you read to the end she is at 11 and still going strong!

Chillblains sound horrid. I am so going to be careful warming myself up now!

@Determined New MS - Poor you at work. Dont blame you doing job applications!
