Financial Probity question

Options
So after 15 years with the same company I have applied for a few positions and been offered 2 roles. One with an insurance company and one with a bank. I received my offers and contracts in the post today. One thing is worrying me and perhaps I'm just over thinking it but it's causing me a little concern.

During both interview processes I was asked if I had any CCJs, IVAs or bankruptcies against me. I do not so I replied as such. I do have a few defaults on my record and a late payment from 2016 when I was very unwell and recovering from major surgery and on ssp which threw my finances off whack. I have only recently managed to catch up with rent arrears and council tax arrears so can now start payments to the default accounts. I'm finally getting back on my feet after a few bad years and these new roles offer increased salary and are closer to home so less travel expenses.

I am now panicking that a financial probity check will include access to my defaults and late payments and may scupper my chances of getting a new role - I haven't decided which one to take yet and I want to make a sensible decision based on career prospects and benefits but I can't think for worrying about this. I looked it up online and saw something about it being only publicaly available information that is checked but I wonder if anyone can give me more information

In respect of council tax liability orders there is no public record of it that an employer can obtain access to but any CCJ that is still live is easily checkable.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

    Thank you for the reply.

Council tax was paid back in full with an arrangement. As were my rent arrears. I don't have any CCJs on my file. I was more wondering if a financial probity check would show up my defaults or late payments? And if that's likely to be an issue. I wasn't asked about those in the interviews, just CCJs IVA and bankruptcy

Just in case anyone else comes across this and wonders what it means.

A financial probity is a check of publicaly available records and is a search for CCJs, IVA or bankruptcy information. It is not a credit check and defaults and late payments are not included in this.

It was detailed in my employment offer. Found it when I was going over the contracts.

Might help someone else going forward

I’m going through the same scenario with the financial probity check with the security watchdog I have a few defaults so slightly concerned. I have no ccjs Iva’s or bankruptcy’s. How did you get on with the checks did you pass and what are they checking for?

You would be lucky to get an answer from the OP as they haven't been back for nearly 6 months.
