Some 1,600 British Gas customers have been told their account number, name and email address may have been involved in a "breach of security" last month, after a "third party" got the login details from another website the affected customers use...

It's not very helpful to keep the 3rd party web site secret. Can any of those affected say where else they stored their login details? An online password web site for example.0

More like one which BG passes info to, so they can flog their customers something.0

That they are simply sending out £20 suggesting it be spent on CIFAS, shows little regard especially as they are not giving out more details of what happened.
Maybe we need to be able to see what each company we deal with hold and demand that they delete all non-essential info0
