Car Insurance query

I'm 29, single, Accountant (safe job according to insurance companies); live in a nice safe area (my brother lives with me - and his insurance cost is around 2-300) - and i have 7 years No claims bonus; and also no criminal record at all - and no points on my license.

I drive a black golf VW 2011, not modified with only 60k miles.

Why is it that every year i do a confused.com/compare the meerkat or something - my insurance quoted was 900! last year it was around 1100; but this year the cheapest was around 900.

why could this be? how can i find out the source as to why my insurance is too high???

Appreciate your replies; when asking the insurance companies - they gave me the same generic answers that it's a mixture of things.... !!
