Christmas sun- where to go?

Hi, thinking about a short 4 to 5 night holiday after boxing day. It's for 3 of us including a 5 year old. We haven't been on a holiday for over couple of years so can go up to around £500 per person.
any recommendations? Only requirement is sun/beach and shortish flight time (don't want to travel 6/7+ hours for such short holiday).

If you choose either Cyprus or Malta, make sure the accommodation has adequate central heating. While it might be warm [no guarantee] between about 1000-1500 it'll be chilly outside of those hours.0

Thanks. Maybe wishful thinking but I am looking for a place where I can get decent weather all day so based in thus Cyprus and Malta are out I guess.. Ta0 -

The Canaries would be the obvious choice for a few days, and the flight times are around 4 hours. Weather should be decent, but bear in mind that it is their peak season, so availability could be a problem. Other possibilities are Hurghada in Egypt, or Dubai, but you are looking at longer flight times.0

You probably need to accept it will be difficult to get what you want.
You need to fly further to guarantee sun and heat all day, you probably won’t get that for £500. 4-5 days also takes you into NYE.

You won't get guaranteed beach time without going a bit further. If it was me I would head to the Middle East. Another couple of hours once you are on the plane won't make a lot of difference. Look at Netflights or Travelzoo late deals. The only other option is the Canaries but quite a bit cooler.travelover0
