2nd attempt at applying for council tax reduction.
1st attempt was rejected when I was full time.
Got a new app sent today-took ipad pro/asus win10 laptop+Cannon airprint printer.
Multiple browers whilst I scanned required docs.
Could have been simpler if the online application supproted safari+chrome.
I.E. was the only browser to show full screen ‘NEXT’ option to continue with form.
That took some time, lets hope I get a postive result in a few weeks.

    Maybe I have a question.
    Does earning less than 11K mean I’ll qualify for ctx reduction.

    Because I’m disabled.
    I mentioned via mse forums as I since re applied as my earnings are approx 10.5k.
    When I 1st applied I was full time since part time earlier this year due to disabilty.
    No concern I’ll get a response from my application in a few weeks.
    Only asking if there is anyother considerations which could affect my application.

    I wouldnt have thought so. Its a band reduction rather than discount. I think you can get a discount if you have a room in the house needed because of your disability. i'm not sure earnings have any bearing on this though.

    this is from the gov website.

    Disabled Band Reduction Scheme
    You may be eligible for the scheme if you live in a larger property than you would need if you or another occupant weren’t disabled.

    You’ll have to show that you’ve either:

    an extra bathroom, kitchen or other room that you need for the disabled person
    extra space inside the property for using a wheelchair
    The property must be the main home of at least 1 disabled person. This can be an adult or a child - it doesn’t have to be the person responsible for paying the Council Tax.

    This is what I’ve applied for.
    Discounts if you are on a low income (Council Tax Reduction)
    Hence I mentioned my move to part time permanently earlier 2017.

    But surely the low income discount doesn't have anything to do with being disabled which is why i queried your reasoning for posting on the disability benefits board further up.

    My understanding is it is for low income disabled who claim PIP etc..
    There’s a few benfits which meet part of criterea.
    And earnings less than 16.5k approx.
    UTC may change this, time will tell.

    In our area for a disabled CT reduction, it will depend on the adaptations in the house.
