This pink is very common in gym showers and I believe is body fat loss although others may disagree. I've been losing body fat recently due to doing Keto and the pink spots all over the bath tub has gotten worse not just in the grout!

    Hi jackieb,

It may not be limescale.

All I know is that there were pink marks in our shower tray (we live in a hard water area). I looked on here and someone mentioned vinegar. I had tried all sorts of cleaners to get rid of it but it refused to shift. When I poured on the vinegar and gave it a wipe it came off really easily.

Hopefully ceri will come back and let us know what worked for her.

THIS is (probably) your beastie! Growing on whatever residues are on your grout.

The most likely deposit is soap, which (like lime-scale) is alkaline. Vinegar (being a weak acid) is very good at removing alkaline residues.

I get this too and it responds well to a quick spray with mould and mildew remover. I know that's not very money saving but it works and as our bathroom gets black mould, however much it is ventilated, I need the spray.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

We had a new shower recently, I think it's partly to do with standing water, may be with 'product' in it, as it happens more where the toiletries bottles sit. When the new shower came, I decided to rinse it fully everytime I was in there. I put the shower head onto the concentrated jet and run it round all the edges, ledges and corners. It's OK so far.

As a future reference, most body fat is lost through respiration - that is, it is broken down and the waste products exhaled as you exercise. It doesn't drip off!

This pinky orange mould is actually Serratia marcescens - a bacteria, google it for more technical information. Bleach is the general remedy or a specialised mould remover.

Shhh, don't say that. Let me cling to the hope that showering will dissolve the weight I need to lose. :rotfl:
