If you are thinking of putting £10,000 in this Virgin account, instead put £9,990 in the OakNorth Bank 1.86% account (worth £10,175.81 at the end of the year) and £10 on a Man Utd double with Betway at 22/1 which will give you £230 if they achieve it.0

The kind of sound money-saving tip that MSE used to be known for.
At an expected interest rate of 1.2% the bond is pretty terrible value (as you'd expect from a marketing gimmick), and that's ignoring the fact that the odds of 22/1 on Man U winning the double are exceedingly generous. Bookmakers' odds represent supply and demand and the number of people from Chelmsford bashing the wine gums on their favourite team as a display of loyalty, rather than the actual probability. (The same reason England are always quoted by English bookies at something ludicrous like 6/1 to win the World Cup.) As there are about five or six teams that could realistically win the league and anyone that could win the cup, the actual probability of Man U winning the double, even taking into account its budget, is probably closer to half that implied by the bookies' odds.0 -
Am more interested that the Virgin Bank / Man Utd relationship is ongoing as am sure people in the Virgin Regular saver thread(s) stated the end of this relationship being the reason no further Virgin RS offers would be launched.0

It's a 4 year agreement between Virgin Money and Manchester United which started a year ago: http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Club-News/2016/Jul/manchester-united-announces-partnership-with-virgin-money.aspx
So there may be more Man Utd reg savers to come...

Suggestion over on the reg saver thread was to post the vouchers to local charity shops around Old Trafford.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

You'd be better of sticking the £10,000 into the account and betting the £100 guaranteed interest on Man Utd to win the double at 20/1!!"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett
