  • Do you know if this works if the direct debits go out of another Barclays account? I have one personal current account and several other accounts out of which my direct debits are paid. None out of my personal current account. Alternatiely, my husband and I have a joint current account out of which our joint direct debits are paid, and we both pay in more than the £800 minimum but that's as transfers in from us rather than being paid from work directly into that account.

I have no intention of leaving Barclays so hoping to benefit from this!

This works only for an account that DDs go out of.

You can use any account for Blue Rewards. So can your husband, but any joint account can be used only once.

If you have Blue Rewards on one account and the DDR's on the other you don't get the benefit of it. They need to be set up to leave the account you have BR set up on. If you don't have any applicable DDRs you'll still pay the monthly fee but you won't get the loyalty reward of £7 (though would still get the Loan/Mortgage/Insurance reward if eligible).

Is the £800 you're paying in coming from your own Sole accounts with Barclays or from other providers? As if it's the former it doesn't count, if it's the latter it does.

Not to split hairs but if DDs are being paid out of an account, it must be a personal current account too? As you can't set up DDs on a savings account.

Blue Rewards doesn't have to be linked to your "main" account, however you choose to define that, but the nominated account must be the one that meets all the criteria of £800 in and (ideally) two DDs out. I'm not aware of any special criteria regarding the £800 income so you could transfer the £800 in and out yourself if it's not the account your wages are paid into.
