I've checked. I'm not affected, but have nevertheless asked them to close my account. I wasn't happy with Groupon anyway after they sold me a kayaking experience in October 2014 with the voucher expiring at the end of January 2015, and it turned out that the kayaking company is always closed October to March. Groupon's response was to give me what amounted to a credit note.
So I was never going to use them again anyway, and to think that leaving my account existing will leave me potentially vulnerable to fraudsters makes it easy for me to 'cut ties'.0
