2.2% on £3000 is quite attractive, but next Autumn when everyone has invested and has their money locked in, the Chancellor may cut the interest rate retrospectively to 1.2% or less. After all, this government has done it before with the threshold on student loan repayments. Perhaps this new bond is another scheme where the government plans to screw us over once we are financially committed.
