So far today, I have achieved the sum total of cleaning the bathroom and doing some washing.
In a minute I will make some stuffing, and try to steel myself to get some ironing done.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Afternoon all
Lazy start to the day for me, we had friends round last night, I did a buffet, I didn't get up 'til late this morning and have been inventive with the leftovers, tapenade for breakfast anyone?
I've been doing a happy dance since yesterday when I received two beautiful dresses sent to me by a fellow MSE'r, her kindness is incredible, I hope she sees this, I have also pm'd her my thanks.
Have a good day everyone.

TA, that is so awful I am sorry. I can see your heart isn't in going away, but once you are there hopefully you will enjoy the break, you both deserve it.
Hester you are a lucky lady, how kind of her

Evening from Manchester airport. My flight isn't until 8.30pm but I've found a comfy couch in a cafe and got a book to get through.
The conference was surprisingly interesting, the food was lovely and the beds comfortable. It's freezing cold here, even the hotel was cold so I'll be glad to get to my mums overheated apartment.
TA so sorry about your DD's friend. Sometimes there's nothing which can be done to avoid such tragedies. Please enjoy your holiday all the same.0 -
Afternoon/Evening All :hello:
Bitter cold here and going dark. Sorry to hear of upsettingness going on through this thread. Hope people are a little less heartsick and critters are calmer.
Hugs/positivity and xxxxx's to all who want them. To those in a dark place, have some fruitcake (please - I've been nibbling it since lunchtime) and keep going - you can do this - yes you can - I know it is hard xx.
Special thoughts (and candles lit) for anyone who could do with a bit of light (Clean Rain - its a kind of sweet, green scent - not floral - but a bit like a sweet cut grass kind of thing - very pure and summery).
Have a beautiful evening and restful night xx2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!

Evening all,
TA....so sorry to hear about DD's friend......as you said she is at peace now.
Bright and sunny here today, but cold.
We had a lazy day today....dinner was a mixture of leftovers, there is a roast chicken in the fridge which we can have tomorrow with some mixed vegetables.
Hester, hope that you managed to have a rest today, nice to get 2 dresses as a gift.
Just one more week until DD3's baby is due, over 5 weeks until we go......I am becoming more anxious every day, dont know why, probably because she is so far away.
Have done no knitting since Wednesday, need to cop on as I have several unfinished symphonies thatbi would like to get done soon.
Keep warm and safe

Evening all. Thanks for all your good wishes and hugs. DD and 2 of the DGDs called this afternoon with Mr TA's cards and presents (it's his birthday tomorrow) and, though still upset, is coming to terms with the tragedy. She has found foster homes through Cats' Protection for her late friend's cats and the ex partner has arranged to hand them over tomorrow. He too is stunned by the tragic waste of a young life and says the children are devastated. He said he had been speaking to her just yesterday and she had sounded more positive about her problems.
Oh well, we are packed for our little holiday = life goes on. Taxi booked for 6.45 am to await the coach picking us up at 7.15 for our trip down to Cornwall. It will be a long day, sandwiches, goodies and a good book are ready to pack to sustain us throughout the day! I am so looking forward to no cooking and cleaning and unwinding after the sh**e few weeks we have had.
Take care all and (((HUGS))) where needed. Be back with you next weekend xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
