Ofgem will examine whether SSE breached its standards of conduct, which are aimed at ensuring suppliers treat customers fairly.
It will also investigate if SSE breached licence conditions, which require it to provide appropriate information to customers – such as the pros and cons of prepayment meters – and consider consumers' ability to pay when informing them of alternative payment methods.
If MSE is going to continue with its Daily Mail style reporting, then I will have to look elsewhere for more balanced and untainted reports.0 -
Can't say I am surprised either way. Had a salesman knock on my door and started spewing out how good a deal he could get me and insisted I sign up there and now despite me insisting on looking at the tariffs and comparing.
In the end I asked him to leave politely. Now what if he knocked on poor Bernard next door who could be an OAP who is vulnerable????"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

This will be interesting to watch as the smart meter roll out progresses. These all contain a contactor and a SIM card so can be used in prepayment mode, so customers could switch either way without anyone visiting the premises.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
