More than six million households switched energy supplier in 2015, a 15% rise on 2014, according to new figures from energy watchdog Ofgem.
Are you sure you have interpreted that correctly, Ben Salisbury?

    What Ofgem actually said was
More consumers are shopping around with over six million energy switches in 2015, says Ofgem

15% more energy accounts were switched in 2015, in comparison with 2014.

15% increase in switches translates to 820,421 more switches in 2015 than in 2014.

I'm sure you will understand that many households will have more than 1 energy account (1 x gas and 1 x electricity, etc)...and that those consumers that are used to switching may have switched more than once in the last year due to the fact
    (1) the best deals are usually fixed for 1 year
    (2) energy prices are falling
    (3) more suppliers offering fixed deals with no early exit fees (so no deterant to switch again when prices do fall)
