That's a rather poorly worded and misleading piece.
Any RBS customer who has taken out Select Platinum since its launch several years ago has been paying £16pm anyway.
The only people who aren't are those who were moved automatically (with due notice and explanation) from the legacy Royalties Gold in July. Those customers were given five months paying the lower £12.95 before the price increase was to be imposed.
I'm not sure what this £1 increase refers to. Perhaps the author could expand.0 -
As above, i'm struggling to see how/why this is news, certainly now, given that this change was announced in the summer and isn't a hike in the prices of those accounts, it's just people who've been moved to them will start paying the account's price (as announced in the summer) rather than their old account's price.I'm not sure what this £1 increase refers to. This will be the difference in Natwest's old Advantage Gold account (which was £15/month) and the Platinum account (16/month) to which those customers were moved in the summer.0 -

I wondered if that was the case but it's so unclear from the article that I felt the author may wish to clarify.
Reading the article you'd incorrectly assume that any changes were affecting Natwest/RBS customers in an identical fashion.
It doesn't add any credibility to the piece when there's reference to a 'package account' rather than a 'packaged account'.0 -
Not a Black or Platinum customer so I really could not care less.0

Indeed, you should.0 -
I've looked at the RBS site and they want £18 per month for Platinum and £28 for Black.
It seems like MSE's figures are wrong.0 -
