Good on them, unfortunately the majority of the market will only follow when forced by either market forces or regulation0

Don't see the point. Last year's premium is irrelevant. Whether it's up or down you need to shop around. If you really want to know just look at last year's documents.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Excuse me, but isn't last year's premium on the renewal or policy document from last year?If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

There's no point seeing what the price was a year ago. The better thing to check is how much the competition are charging this year.0

are people's memories that bad they can not remember a year ago ?0

My contents insurance is due at the end of the month. As I pay it off in one lump sum, I had to go onto last year's bank transactions to see how much I paid. Knew the rough figure give/take £3.
I paid £48.56 and wanted to charge £59.62 for this year! Got this year's insurance for £45.32This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Many of us change our insurance providers each year. As Martin says loyalty doesn't pay for cheaper insurance.
Only time I stayed with the same insurer for 2 years running was when I worked for one employee and we got 25-30% discount if we bought any insurance with a particular insurer. I did go through the price comparison websites, DL and Aviva each time. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'd be more interested if they displayed more information about the "no claims discount", and the premium you would have paid if you didn't have any ncd, because I have never believed they actually apply the percentage discount they claim to.0

Who's claiming a percentage?
Its been a long time since I've seen anyone clarify what the percentages are and the criteria to qualify for them. Even marketing messages are always "up to" which just means some must be able to get that but not necessarily you if you're only 25 or drive a sports car etc.0
