    Simple supply and demand issue. Not hard to figure out a rural community with say 50 houses every x miles is going to pay more than a city with xK cars.

    Nothing stopping them moving. You can't move in to the middle of nowhere then complain about things like petrol prices and public transport

    You assume that people "move to" rural areas - quite a few of us are people who have lived rurally all our lives, and can't afford to just "up sticks and move" to chase cheaper petrol.

    what nonsense, petrol prices have been hovering around the same amount for the last couple of years.

    and lets face it, a few pence difference here and there makes zero difference to the average driver, you're talking a few quid cheaper or more expencive for a tank, its nothing.

    Yet these same people dont have a problem paying £4 for a liter of coffee at their favourite coffee shop, or a few quid for a pint of beer down the pub.

    At least petrol has a use

    How wrong you are, rural people are often paid less and we definitely would not waste hard earned cash on Starbucks etc. A few quid more for a tank of fuel may be peanuts to you but its a great deal to us.
    I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
