    why just the big 6?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I can't register as you don't have my address on file (new build). You should let the address field be editable...

I was just going to pick a different house no. and register anyway but didn't want any correspondence or post to be sent to them.

You've had a lucky escape, Sparx, as there are several several better energy comparison sites than the 'cheap' energy club, plus it is usually possible to get more than £30 cashback via topcashback and quidco. As for 'taking on the big six', pure baloney. The only thing the 'cheap' energy club takes from the big six is commission for switchers.
  • Cheap energy club is just clever marketing to gain commission off switches!

Over the next year it will start to target bespoke 'collective switch' deals for users, to help customers undercut even the cheapest deals available.

So it hasn't yet started acting on the basis of a cheap energy club trying to use the power of that many members in negotiating a joint deal? How about sharing in part of the referral commission?

I hadn't got around to looking at it yet, and I can't quite see why to at the moment.

Do you think those of us who switched didnt check out the comparison sites first? I did & the CEC was the cheapest, with cashback. Thanks CEC.
in any case ive got a "No "penalty" deal so I can switch again whenever I wish without cost., Oh and I do check the cashback sites as well.

Both Quidco and topcashback give more than £30 cashback when switching dual fuel via energylynx.

Yes, but they are not the cheapest overall! whats the point of getting, say £50 CB, £20 more than CEC, when over a year its dearer?

I had joined CEC when it was launched and when I knew my last fixed deal was coming to an end, I went searching myself for a new deal. This was about 6 weeks before the end date in October last year.

CEC didn't email me until after I had found a new deal and the deal they offered was worse as they had waited too long and suppliers had put their rates up. The email was some 2 weeks before the old expiry date. Way too late for my liking.

It is easier to use the comparison sites yourself and set a remainder in your calendar to go price shopping.

    Just deleted my CEC account

Truly dreadful service, passed garbage data to the supplier I was switching to, delaying things by months. Switch has now been ongoing since last July?
