Its getting crazy to rent a line that most people use only for broadband!.
If you are out of contract-threaten to cancel and it is easy to get something free or a discount.
I do it every year and this time i got 12 months half price line rental.

I received your weekly email this afternoon and have just come off the phone to Sky re changing my line rental to annual payment rather than monthly. Unfortunately I was told that the £119.40 deal finished on 15th October so sadly I missed it! Accepted the £140.40 one and although it is not such a good saving it is still better than the monthly rental charge. Thank you MSE.

But doesn't it also mean you are tied to Sky for another 12 months? I'm assuming you have broadband as well? What if they hike that in the next 12 months, can you leave penalty free?
