... customers were often told to contact the retailer in question, which was simply wrong.
Why was that simply wrong?
Shouldn't customers advise suppliers that they no longer wish to receive their products or services and therefore no longer wish to pay for them?
I'm not saying the banks were right to avoid their responsibility to protect their customers funds, but surely if only out of courtesy alone, it is only right the supplier is informed by the customer?0 -
Crucially, it's also important to make a new complaint, if not done already, if you've had money wrongly taken after asking your bank or building society to cancel a CPA.
No they don't.
ALL old complaints on CPA's are being reviewed and will be looked at. If it is believed that a customer has lost out they will be refunded.
Still its going to make for a good bit of overtime for me.....
Every cloud and all that
its amazing how people manage to set these up. Yet when asked if they have contacted the company simply say I have no idea how too.... Or who they are....
Perhaps these people need a quick course in how to keep contact details of any company they pass their card details too.....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
With the notable exception of gym membership, wouldn't most CPA's result in the payer actually receiving something on a regular basis? Perhaps AA membership papers/card, perhaps a monthly magazine, etc?
I'm not sure how payers can't know who they are or how to contact them.0 -

There seems quite a lot of people who complain about payday loans they can't remember taking out or borrow say £100 and can't understand why after paying back £100 over 3 months, they still owe the lender more.0 -
Finally just got my recurring charges back from 2009 and 100 pound compensation and 8% interest per annum !it was a long and stressful fight ,But in the end had to take it to the ombudsman. And the bank still denied I had previously tried to stop the payments leaving my account! So a strong word of advice make sure that proof of when your dispute was taken up with the bank can be proved .0
