Family holiday in Majorca - where to go?

My wife and I are looking at the possibility of a holiday late Sep in Majorca - as we are going with our 2 yr old son we are looking for somewhere best for families with good beaches and away from the 'inbetweeners' crowd. Any suggestions which parts of the islands are best for familes/where to avoid?

Thanks,

Mark.

Sa Coma and S'illot (right next to each other) on the east coast are perfect for families. I prefer the S'illot side as it seems to have more of a Spanish feel imo.

We went to Playa de Muro (Lagotel) in June last year. We loved it. All families at the hotel, lovely pools and Playa de Muro itself was lovely! :) beautiful beach but it never seemed overcrowded.

Puerto Pollensa. Decent size, good beach, good choice of restaurants, minimal british pubs / nightclubs

Port de Soller. As Puerto Pollensa, but a lot smaller.
  • Another vote for Peurto Pollensa. The club del sol is fab.

Puerto Pollensa also gets my vote! Fairly quiet, lovely beach, great for families. Thoroughly recommended.

Many thanks for the advice - we are going to rent a private apartment so won't be hotelling it but will look at the areas recommended.

It looks like they are generally set in the north of the island - is it more family orientated there than the south?

Also as mentioned before we are thinking of going the last two weeks in Sep - will the weather still be ok? 20-25c ish?

Am I risking a lot of non beach weather if we end up going in October?
  • You are risking very much non beach weather going in October, you,re pushing it late september. Really egypt, cyprus, the canaries would be far better at this sort of time, as Majorca cools down exeptinally quickly after the summer.

I much prefer the north as it has far less of the main tourist resort, yet still has the amenities.
