I imagine this will be universal as they have had these trees instore for a few weeks.

Anyway, if anyone is up for a challenge they were reduced to 99p in our local Aldi, originally £3.99.

They were reduced to £2.49 for the past week, when I bought a Flowering Almond and a Common Birch.

Today I picked up 4 more all at 99p each, Flowering Apple, Flowering Plum, Crab Apple and a 'Lucky Dip Tree', haven't got a clue what that was as there was no label on it but it is about 6' tall!

I don't want them to grow very big so I am going to get some large pots for them.

So, worth keeping your eyes open the next time you pop into Aldi.

;)

It says on the label 'Prunus Nigra'. When I scraped a bit of the bark with my finger nail it wasn't green but purple, about the same colour as a beetroot.

They have some of them in the local park. Very, very early flowering. In a good year you will get little dark (red/purple) plums that taste like a cross between damsons and plums.

Well that isn't going to get too big very soon as they say height 8 - 12 m in 20 to 50 years!

Sorry, it wasn't Flowering Apple but Flowering Cherry, Prunus avium 'Plena'.
