Is my apple tree ... - Now with photo

Perhaps this story will have a happy ending - like that of the Ugly Duckling?
Confidently, I shall stride back to the forum in 2013 and announce that my wonderful tree made a million delicious apple ...
More likely ... I'll crawl back and say I almost choked on an ornamental cherry because I couldn't help but try one ...0 -
Has the bark got lines going from left to right [it might be hard to see on a young tree] like this at all?:
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Nope, has sort of white flecks - no lines at all.
Is that a bad sign?0 -
Hurrah hurrah, now in full bloom, leaves and flowers and all - blossoms are white. Can't wait for the frost to come along and kill it now

Any chance of a photo or two? A close up of the bark and one of the flowers might help us ID it.
And whereabouts are you?If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
So lovely heavy frost.
I have a 3yo apple tree that has never flowered. Got some leaves this spring/summer and I've mostly ignored it, figured if it survives, it survives and if not, then no big loss ...
... This morning, through the frost, it has flowered. Beautiful dark pink blossoms. The rest of the garden is white and confused ... What is going on with my strange apple tree?
Seasons gone crazy! Mine had blossom a month or so back and my Rose has three flowers on it and a few buds about to open.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -

I just stumbled across this thread.

I would be interested to know what the OP bought.

That is definately apple blossom.
No way I know of telling whether it crab apple or culinary/dessert apple.
Weird seeing new growth at that time of the year; some of my later flowering apple trees are very little further forward NOW.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
