Hi I usually have the pre paid fair fx card for travelling to Spain, I've just spotted the Halifax clarity is a good credit card to go for when spending abroad, just wanted to know how the apr 12.9 works eg if I was to spend £2000 on the credit card whilst on holiday a mix of card transactions and cash withdrawals but was to pay it off before the months up would I be charged 12.9 percent on that £2000? Thanks in advance . Liz

interest is calculated daily.
pay off as soon as spend appears on your statement and interest charges will be pennies (if anything at all).
nice card.0 -
If you pay the balance in full you'll be charged the interest on withdrawals only....eg if I was to spend £2000 on the credit card whilst on holiday a mix of card transactions and cash withdrawals but was to pay it off before the months up would I be charged 12.9 percent on that £2000? Thanks in advance . Liz0 -
Rate can vary but if 12.9% then that's basically 1% per month. Also you don't have to wait for your formal statement, log onto Internet banking as soon as you return and pay then, for a two week holiday that would be less than 0.5%, with minimal spread in the exchange rate.0

Can you transfer money to your credit card before you go on holiday?
Example:
Transfer £400 by BACS prior to leaving UK then withdraw £400 worth of currency from destination @ perfect exchange rate?
Since you do not go into debt there should be no interest?0
