How Long Before ESA Response after sending back ESA50?

Just wondering what is the general timescale for people.

    I sent the ESA50 back end of January and am still waiting to hear, I have had a medical for DLA & got low care rate. I applied for ESA in October 2012. How long have u been waiting?

    Some have reported a couple of weeks, and sometimes there are delays and problems and it takes many months.
    The average would perhaps be around 6 weeks, though I'd have to re-check the statistics on this.
    It's not a bad idea to call them after 10 days or so, and ensure that the form has been received.
    If they need to contact your doctor, it may obviously wait for their response.

    I have been waiting for 7 weeks now! Stressful time! Will see if IB goes into tomorrow!

    If you are on IB, and have completed an ESA50, they cannot stop your benefit without an in-person medical.
    (or if you miss such a medical)

    about two and a half weeks at most the esa. no medical.;)

    They have taken 8 weeks to put me in the support group with no medical (and no further evidence apart from a letter from my GP saying that I needed a home visit).
    The letter came today. I am so happy cus I was convinced it was going to be bad news.

    My IB is still being paid and I have phoned and know they have received my ESA50 forms. Just a waiting game now!!
